A moment in the paddock
Three horses bring a little disorder to a green field.

Three horses, one frame, very little symmetry. The white fence runs away behind them while each horse arrives at a slightly different angle.
The pale horse in the middle turns its head. The darker horses on either side face more directly toward the camera. Their spacing gives the photograph its energy; there is enough room to see each animal, but no sense that they have arranged themselves for a portrait.
The Stable brings an equestrian thread to Idlewind Acres. Sometimes that thread will lead to clothes or design. Here, it begins with the horses themselves, out in the grass with the fence behind them.
A still photograph makes it possible to linger over a moment that would otherwise be gone: a lifted foreleg, a turned ear, the uneven line of three heads. That is plenty for this first page from the paddock.
